Overwater Hall
A Lake District Country House Hotel

The magnificent Lake District setting of Overwater Hall Hotel
This elegant 18th Century
Lake District hotel is hidden in a quiet, unspoilt
part of the Northern
Lakes beside Overwater Tarn and close to Bassenthwaite Lake. Now
in the 16th year of family ownership, Overwater Hall has a reputation
for luxury bedrooms, high standards of service and excellent cuisine,
as demonstrated by the AA award of a Red Rosette.
Set in 18 acres of formal gardens
and woodland, and with the dramatic backdrop of Skiddaw and the Uldale Fells,
the hotel provides not only a perfect base for a relaxing holiday,
but also a unique setting for special celebrations and weddings.
Overwater Hall is a dog-friendly hotel; well-behaved
dogs are very welcome to stay in any of our bedrooms, and our extensive
grounds provide ideal space for exercise.
Lovers of wildlife will find this area to
be a haven for a wide variety of birds, including the Lake District
ospreys who may be seen fishing in Overwater Tarn or Bassenthwaite
Lake. Red squirrels are resident in our grounds, and occasional
deer may be spotted.
We are very proud to announce that in May, 2008,
the AA awarded Overwater Hall Hotel with 3 stars, a Red Rosette
and a merit award of 80%. These accolades reflect the improved
quality of the hotel following major refurbishment over the last
five years, the high standards that our guests have come to expect
in our restaurant, and the genuine desire to provide service
and hospitality that are second to none.
