and woodland, and with the dramatic backdrop of Skiddaw and the Uldale Fells,

Overwater Hall is the perfect venue for your special day.

. Licensed* for Civil Marriage Ceremonies, with an excellent reputation for hospitality,

service and food, and with eleven beautiful en suite bedrooms,

we can cater for your every need throughout the day.

. Your wedding day at Overwater Hall will feel like a house party

because we will give you exclusive use of the hotel.

This means that the timing of your day is entirely up to you,

and that we will be there for you and your guests whenever you need us.

. We want your wedding day to be as individual as you are,

so we have not put together a package of menus for you to choose from.

Instead, we would like to meet you personally, and to discuss your requirements

to see how we might help to make your dream day come true.

What will it cost?

. For exclusive use of the hotel, we will charge you for all eleven of our bedrooms,

regardless of how many of them are actually occupied.

. The prices we have detailed below are intended to give you an idea of how much

your wedding at Overwater Hall might cost.

. Some people ask their guests to pay for the cost of their own Room and Breakfast,

leaving you the cost of meals and drinks to budget for.

. You might like to have a Wedding Breakfast early afternoon,

followed by an evening meal?

. A drinks package can be put together for you if you wish,

or you might prefer an open bar,

or to ask your guests to pay for their own drinks?

. One night bookings will be taken mid-week,

but a minimum two night stay will be required should you wish your wedding

to take place at the weekend.

. In order to proceed with your wedding arrangements,

we recommend that you first agree a provisional date with us,

then you should contact the Superintendent Registrar, Mrs Karen Warwick,

at Wigton Register Office, telephone number 016973 66116.

. A wedding at Overwater Hall depends on the Registrar and

Superintendent Registrar being present.

. All fees for the marriage ceremony itself are payable

directly to the Registrar.

Our room rates vary according to the time of year of your wedding.

For this example we have quoted high season prices.

Room & Breakfast for 22 guests £1870

Wedding Breakfast (for a maximum of 30 guests) from £25 per person

Evening Dinner or Carved Buffet (for a maximum of 30 guests) from £40 per person

OR Informal Buffet (for a maximum of 50 guests) from £25 per person

Champagne (approx. 6 glasses per bottle) from £38.75 per bottle

Wine from £15.95 per bottle

Open Bar : in our experience, a figure of £20 per person is generous.
