Our Hotel
Set in eighteen acres of gardens and woodland,
Overwater Hall is an elegant, Grade 2 listed Georgian mansion,
parts of it dating back to the 1780s. Flanked by dramatic Skiddaw
and its surrounding fells, this is a country house hotel in the
true sense of the word. One of the principal mansions in the
area, the Hall has been designated as a building of
Architectural and Historic interest.
The hotel is family run and cared for, and
the relaxed and friendly atmosphere that pervades it makes it
a home from home.
Quality service and genuine hospitality
assure you of a real break from today's busy world.
Now in our sixteenth year, your hosts, Stephen Bore, and Angela and
Adrian Hyde, warmly welcome you as their guests.
Major refurbishment in 2004 and 2005
has given the ground floor a completely new look and now in 2008 we have finished the refurbishment programme, giving us eleven superior bedrooms, all with luxurious bathrooms.
Please note that in line with new government legislation, Overwater Hall is a non-smoking hotel.
A note to dog owners: dogs are very welcome
here, and at no extra charge - we even have a lounge area for
you to sit with your dog, and of course our grounds are always
open for you and your dog to enjoy.
