Angela, Adrian and I bought Overwater Hall in 1992 - our dream hotel in a quiet, unspoilt part of the northern Lake District and we are now in our 16th year of family ownership. This web site is designed to introduce you to our Hotel, but our real passion is service. Whatever the reason for your stay - a walking break with your dog, to view the ospreys, or simply to relax and be pampered in a very special part of the world - please pick up the phone and call us. One of us is always on hand to answer your questions and to help you arrange the details of your stay with us, personally.

Going "green": as hoteliers living and working in an environmentally sensitive area, we are committed to minimising our impact on the environment. We have recently added a new page to our website describing our efforts in this area which we hope you will find both interesting and informative.

NEW FOR 2008...

We are very proud to announce that as of the 9th of May, the AA has awarded us with 3 stars, a Red Rosette and a merit award of 80%. These accolades reflect the improved quality of the hotel following major refurbishment over the last five years, the high standards that our guests have come to expect in our restaurant, and the genuine desire to provide service and hospitality that are second to none.
