Dogs are GENUINELY Welcome at Overwater Hall

Bafta's first day at Overwater, September 2005.

Dog owners will be delighted to know that well-behaved dogs are genuinely welcome to stay in any of our bedrooms, at no charge.

We are also happy for you to sit with your dog in one of our lounges or in the bar - no dogs on chairs, though, please!

Cumbria is a walker's paradise at any time of the year, with its spectacular scenery, fells, lakes and gardens, and for all of these reasons, your dog will love it, too.

And now there is no reason to even venture beyond the hotel. Overwater is perfect for dogs, with 18 acres of grounds for your canine friend to enjoy unleashed, including our newly completed woodland boardwalk.

The Boardwalk

There are 18 acres of woodland and gardens to explore here at Overwater Hall, and now there is a new way to enjoy the hotel's surroundings.

Walk out of the car park and on to the main drive, after a short while you will see the start of the boardwalk off to your left.

Though care is needed in places, the first part of the walk should be accessible to everyone.

The middle part of the walk involves more boardwalk and some

fairly steep slopes, followed by a long stepped section.....

The last part is laid with woodchip, and crosses the lane behind the hotel

to end in the hotel gardens just beyond the dogs' graves..
