A tour of our bedrooms:
Our bedrooms are priced according to size, view and facilities. The Garden Room, being the only room with a spa/whirlpool bath and direct access to the garden, is the most expensive. Rooms One, Seven and Ten are the least expensive, being smaller rooms, with more restricted views.
Finishing touches : you will find a vase of fresh flowers, a fruit bowl, mineral water, fluffy white bathrobes and special Gilchrist & Soames toiletries in all of our bedrooms.
All of our bathrooms now have large double-ended baths and separate shower units.
The Garden Room:This is our only bedroom on the ground floor of the hotel, making
it ideal for ambulant disabled guests. The room can be made
up either as a twin or a double-bedded room, and has direct access
to our lovely gardens, via a private balcony - dogs love it! Beautifully
furnished with handmade limed English Oak furniture, and a comfortable
sitting area with flat screen LCD TV and a CD player. The
spacious bathroom is the only one to boast a large, double-ended whirlpool spa bath.
Room One: Formerly with en suite shower only, refurbished early 2008 to give this romantic room a lovely bathroom to rival any of our rooms. Waxed wood panelling and Victorian
red walls.
Room Two : This room can
be made up either as a twin or a double-bedded room. Beautifully
furnished, and with a separate sitting room with flat screen LCD
TV and CD player.
Wonderful fell views.
Room Three: Refurbished early 2008. Turret room with king size wooden sleigh
bed. Roll top bath. Fell and Garden views through three bay windows
and a view of Skiddaw through a further window.
Room Four: This beautifully
appointed bedroom with king size bed and handmade English
Oak furniture has a separate sitting area.Fell and Garden views.
Room Five (formerly Room 6): Furnished to the same
high standard as room Four, this room is spacious enough
to accommodate an extra bed for families but without separate sitting
area. Can be a twin or double room (super-king-size bed). Scandinavian beech furniture in the bathroom,
English oak in the bedroom. Garden and Fell views.
Room Six (formerly Room 7): Refurbished early 2008. This Turret room has a king size antique
wooden four poster bed. Fell views through three
bay windows and garden views through a further two windows!
Room Seven (formerly Room 9): Refurbished in 2008 to give this lovely room the bathroom it deserves. King size bed and separate dressing room. Orchard view, with a chance of seeing the Roe Deer
in autumn and winter if you are up early enough!.

Room Nine (formerly Room 15): Refurbished in 2007. This room has a king-size bed and lovely fell views. It was our first room to boast a separate dressing room - the ladies love it.
Room Ten (formerly Room 17): Refurbished in 2007. This double-bedded room is now much larger than you might remember it. Still smaller than our other superior rooms, though, so it carries a lower price tag!
